A chain united from end to end

If we stop for a moment and see what we have achieved we continue to surprise ourselves: we created a software that controls the flow of flowers from the fields to the supermarkets….yes, from the farms in the Sabana de Bogota, the eastern area of Antioquia, and Ecuador to the points of sale in such faraway places as Miami, Boston, Los Angeles or Portland.

And to unite this floriculture supply chain from end to end, means to unite more than 40 producing companies from different geographies, three breeders, six commercializing companies and more or less 20 bouquet companies, among other companies…. ensuring that all the links use the same language, that the orders flow efficiently both ways, and to concentrate all the information they generate- that will become an input for analysis- in a single data base.

Without a doubt, this has been a wonderful professional challenge. But perhaps, what is most interesting, is to know that after so many years we continue to create. Every day there is something new to do: a new front to integrate or a new development to generate in this suite called WebFlowers – a suite that is more than an ERP because in GHT we don´t only work for one company. So, we could mint a new acronym and say that WebFlowers is an IERP, an Intercompany System for Resource Planning.
